About ten years ago, I would have been writing this blog on the best books for learning all about makeup and makeup application. Now with YouTube, we can watch videos about makeup, and watch actual demonstrations on the application of makeup for every age and skin type. But with all the hundreds of videos out there on the subject, how do we decide which video(s) are more suitable for us? Well, I have tried to narrow it down to the Youtube channels that are the easiest to understand and follow:
YOUTUBE MAKEUP TUTORIAL VIDEOS
1. THE MAKEUP CHAIR – The YouTuber who hosts this channel is Sinead Cady from Ireland; one of Ireland’s most subscribed Beauty YouTuber. Sinead is a professional make-up artist who started creating beauty vlogs on YouTube in 2010. This YouTube vlogger gives an introduction to makeup application and specific tutorials such as, “The Birthday Look” and the “Lazy Holiday Makeup Look.” And with over 45 million views on YouTube, how could you go wrong? You can catch her videos at the following address: https://www.youtube.com/user/TheMakeupChair.
2. KATHLEEN LIGHTS – Since starting her first YouTube channel ‘Kathleen Lights,’ this beauty guru has gained more than 3.7 million subscribers. She provides simple and easy tips for doing makeup at home. Her popular videos paved the way for collaborations with cosmetic companies like ‘Colorpop,’ ‘Ofra Cosmetics,’ and ‘Morphe Brushes.’ Kathleen has videos regarding her latest makeup purchases, how to apply magnetic eyelashes and achieving a romantic look for a special date. She is light hearted and easy to follow. She does not seem to focus on only high-end cosmetics, but rather makeup which can fit anyone’s budget. You can follow Kathleen Lights at the following address: https://www.youtube.com/user/KathleenLights/.
3. MAKEUPBYTIFFANYD – Tiffany D is an Atlanta-based teacher, self-taught makeup artist and beauty product junkie. And her blog reflects this. She has videos covering items such as make-up, hair styling products and her latest handbag purchase. So her motto of, “One Girl’s Thoughts On All Things Beauty,” is very fitting. Not to mention the fact that over 950,000 viewers cannot be wrong. If you’re new to makeup, or just not one to go wild, she’ll teach you how to make a terrific impression all the while remaining true to yourself. You can follow MakeUpByTiffanyD at the following address: https://www.youtube.com/user/MakeupByTiffanyD.
4. PATRICK STARR – If you love being entertained while learning beauty techniques such as winged eyeliner, then Patrick Starr’s vlog is for you. What makes Patrick Starr so captivating is his potpourri of makeup transformations which range from the very simple all the way to mind blowing. With a little over 3 million subscribers, Patrick Starr has taught the power of makeup in several easy steps. To follow Patrick go to his vlog at: https://www.youtube.com/user/theepatrickstarrr/featured.
So check out the above vloggers when you have a chance. You will be entertained and learn a little something new.
