Lately, a lot of us have been adding a pre-cleanse to our face cleansing regimen; for example a cleansing oil or a face cleansing wipe. One of the latest face cleansing wipes now out is Clinique’s Pep-Start Quick Cleansing Swipes. According to Clinique, their Pep-Start Quick Cleansing Swipes remove surface dirt and oil while gently exfoliating for skin that’s softer and smoother. The swipes come in single use pods, making it perfect for going to the gym, on the go or work.
Now while I really like the novelty of the cleansing swipe being contained in a pod, what I do not like is how the product does not get rid of any amount of makeup I am wearing. I did read some comments where the users stated the Clinique Pep-Start Quick Cleansing Wipes was only meant to clean your face and not clean off makeup. I disagree. To me, if a cleansing wipe cannot get rid of some amount of makeup, how can we expect it to properly clean our faces?
Also, the swipes smell poorly; as if it has been soaking in Peroxide all day. The last thing I want to do is rub a sheet which has the smell of chemicals on my face. That can’t be healthy for your skin. The swipes don’t seem to be made of the same material as are other cleansing cloths. The Clinique Pep-Start Quick Cleansing Swipes feel like a rough, netted material. It would think that this may irritate sensitive skin. I have normal to dry skin and the cloths irritated my skin.
The Clinique Pep-Start Quick Cleansing Swipes are a fantastic idea. They come in little pods, so all you have to do is through one of the pods in your gym bag and freshen your face after working out. But with the chemical smell, the fact it can cause skin irritation and it does not wipe off as much dirt as it should, causes me concern. I would stick with the cleansing cloths you are using now.
