There are many, many foundations on the market. Some are geared to dry skin, and some focus on mature skin. And these foundations come in liquid form, paste or even sticks. So which foundation do you choose? Well, here are my thoughts on the top four foundations that I think meet the needs of the general population:
1. ESTEE LAUDER DOUBLE WEAR STAY-IN-PLACE MAKEUP – Without a doubt, this foundation is top on my list. The finish is not so matte that it makes your face look like dried cake frosting, but it is not dewy, either. It is the perfect balance. The coverage is a solid medium and buildable to full, but I cannot imagine anyone needing much more than medium coverage foundation. I put this foundation on early in the morning, and it lasts until late at night. This foundation works like heaven on my normal-dry & sensitive skin. But the cons of this product is the packaging. I have spilled a good amount of this foundation a few times, because this product does not have a pump. However, overall I would definitely recommend this foundation. It retails for $39.50.
2. MAC STUDIO WATERWEIGHT FOUNDATION – The foundation delivers color in an ultra-fluid, thin, elastic gel-serum formula. The foundation contains a moisture fusion complex to immediately moisturize the skin. This product protects with SPF 30, and is perfect for all skin types. It offers all-day wear and sheer to medium coverage. The Waterweight foundation is streak free, does not cake, and helps control oil. I am a long-time MAC fanatic. The lightweight formula works with my dry to normal skin. The addition of Moisture Fusion Complex provides immediate and all-day hydration, leaving skin quenched, soft, supple and silky to the touch. This foundation will work for many skin types and I recommend trying it out. The MAC Studio Waterweight Foundation retails for $35.00.
3. BAREMINERALS BARESKIN PURE BRIGHTENING SERUM FOUNDATION – This lightweight formula is jam packed with pigments and makes for light to medium coverage. It is more than enough to cover freckles and sun spots. This ultra-thin, skin-perfecting fluid provides seamless adjustable coverage. It has a natural finish and the look and feel of beautiful skin. It has the minimum ingredients and is formulated without oil, silicone, parabens or fragrance. This high-performance formula blurs the look of pores and imperfections all the while improving the appearance of skin texture. The Bareminerals Bareskin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation has a range of 30 matte-finish shades. And to add, just one pump delivers lightweight, full coverage. You are saving a lot of waste. This intriguing foundation retails for $30.00.
4. BOBBI BROWN SKIN LONG-WEAR WEIGHTLESS FOUNDATION – I am a long time fan of Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, and an absolute fan of this foundation. This foundation offers full, long-wear coverage which looks and feels like second-skin. It is not masky, heavy or cakey. It is incredibly smooth, blendable, feels natural, and has multidimensional matte coverage. Not only does this foundation promise all of the above, but it promises to look the exact same way after 16 hours as it did when you first applied it. With all of this, how could you not like this product? Bobbi Brown Skin Long-Wear Weightless foundation retails for $46.00.
So these are my top four foundations. They are the ones I grab in the morning when I go about my day and the ones I grab for a hot night on the town. I will admit that these foundations are not priced like some of your drug-store foundations, but they do have a ton to offer, and that is why I suggest these.

I really like the Bareminerals foundation. I was never too fond of their powder foundation, but I am a fan of their liquid foundation. I think it has better coverage.

I will be sure to check out some of these foundations.

Oh please do! If you are searching for a lightweight foundation, I would recommend MAC. If you need something a little heavier, Estee Lauder would be great!
