Highlighters. It is makeup used on your face which attracts light. Thus, creating the illusion of brightness and height, and giving that lit-from-within look. But how do you choose the right highlighter for you? Well, I like to go by the gold jewelry versus silver jewelry test. If you look better in gold jewelry than silver jewelry, I would choose a warm gold tone. If you look better in silver jewelry, I would choose a pale pink tone. But you can always side on the error of caution and choose a warm pink, which usually looks pretty decent on everyone.
For a light, ever so subtle sheen and glow, you really can’t go wrong with liquid highlighter. It gives a more fresh and dewy look. I came across a wonderful highlighter on Etsy called Shimmer Drops made by MBA Cosmetics. I got my highlighter in the color Luminous, which is a warm pink color. But if you are not into warm pink, MBA Cosmetics makes nine other colors you might find more attractive. The highlighter comes in a neat applicator tube which lets you drop just the right amount of liquid.
Highlighter can make you more youthful when applied in the right areas. To make your cheekbones look higher, use highlighter on the top just off to the side underneath your eye area. Be sure to keep very shimmery highlighter on the cheek at least a finger’s width away from your eyes however. If it is too close, it may settle into any fine lines and may accentuating the fine lines.
For bigger and brighter eyes, apply it around your tear duct or dotted onto the center of your eyelids.
To get an instant brow lift, dab highlighter under the arch of your eyebrows. If you want to fake the appearance of a slimmer nose, swipe it down the center of the bridge. If you want to make your lips look poutier, place the highlighter in the bow of your lip.
So that is how to get a little shimmer in your shake. If you are interested in the MBA Cosmetics highlighter (which is a GREAT liquid highlighter) it retails for $10.00 for .49oz. You may purchase the highlighter at www.mbacosmetics.com.
