I wanted to reach out to those who fly Lufthansa or about to fly Lufthansa.
Let me begin by saying I need to take medication on a timely basis for a medical condition. The morning of August 30, 2017, my husband and I flew on Lufthansa to Mallorca, Spain. When we landed I happened to look at my watch and notice that I need to take one of my pills. I asked one of two flight attendants if I could please have a cup of water so I can take my medication. The first flight attendent gruffly told me, “No. We have landed, the galley is closed and we can’t serve you”. The second attendent literally raised her voice at me and stated, “We’ve been waiting on you all night. We can’t serve you anymore”.
I was taken aback. What was I supposed to do? The type of pill I had to take could not be taken without water, and if I waited too long to get the medication in my system I knew that I could become quite sick. So I had to wait to get off the plane, find a place to get water and then take my medication.
When I finally had the opportunity to email Lufthansa, I was given a automatic response and a reference number. I did not have a problem with this at first. I know Lufthansa is a major airline and I am not the only one with a complaint. I waited four days and reached out to Lufthansa again. The airline gave me another automatic response with another reference number.
First, I understand that have rules which are meant to protect us. I also know Lufthansa has rules for its employees. What I don’t get is if you are telling a flight attendent you have to take medication and you are in need of water, why turn the passenger down? It is not as if I was asking for a cup of Crown Royal. I wanted a cup of water to taken medication so I would not get sick. And I had gotten sick while waiting to get off the plane, then what? Is Lufthansa just going to drag my body to the side so the other passengers could get by? Give me a break!
So be careful if you are flying Lufthansa and taking medication. You just may be told you can’t have the one thing which is going to make you feel better.

I am just so glad you’re okay because this could have turned into a dire medical emergency. I am disgusted by their complete lack of concern for your wellbeing. What is wrong with airlines nowadays? Dragging passengers off and beating them… denying passengers the ability to take necessary medication… neglecting pets and allowing them to die… There are no more friendly skies, that’s for sure. It’s Lord of the Flies up there now.

Thank you for replying. I agree that these airlines have lost their minds. I will never understand how these airlines are getting away with the mental and physical abuse they dish out. It has to come to an end.
Again. Thanks for replaying.
