While Sephora and ULTA are the main stores I shop for cosmetics, I do occasionally go to my local drugstore and purchase my makeup from there. So which drugstore beauties topped my list? Well take a look below:
- L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara – this is a standby for me. I know that Maybelline’s Great Lash mascara is favorited by many makeup artists, I disagree with their choice. The L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara makes my lashes very long and very black. And their brush is designed to glide on just the right amount of mascara without clumping or flaking. This mascara gives it all! The L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara retails for $8.49;
- L’Oreal Visible Lift Blur Foundation – L’Oréal Visible Lift Blur Foundation has an opti-blur technology that is great for all skin types. It provides anti-aging benefits while hiding any imperfections. This foundation made my skin feel and look smooth. It hid the discoloration around my nose and parts of my cheeks. The L’Oreal Visible Lift Blur did as it promised and blurred my fine lines. It is affordable and comparable to some of the more expensive foundations. The foundation retails for $6.99;
- Covergirl Clean Pressed Powder – I have been using Covergirl Clean Pressed Powder since forever. Cover Girl’s shine-free formula helps make pores less visible, so skin looks soft, smooth and naturally beautiful. It contains shine very well and goes on smooth. The pressed powder is light-weight and provides excellent coverage. Out of all the drugstore pressed powers, I somehow find myself always going back to this one. The Covergirl Clean Pressed Powder retails for $6.99;
- Garnier Skinactive Micellar Cleansing Water and Waterproof Makeup Remover – In the past I have always relied on designer micellar water to help take off my makeup. However, once I tried Garnier Skinactive Micellar Cleansing Water and Waterproof Makeup Remover I was surprised to find that the Garnier brand did just as well as a job as some of the designer micellar water I purchased. The Garnier brand is cost effective, removes long-wear lipstick and waterproof mascara. Be warned, to remove the waterproof mascara you need to soak the cotton and place it on your eye for a couple of minutes. The Garnier Skinactive Micellar Cleansing Water and Waterproof Makeup Remover retails for $8.99.
So those are a few of my drugstore standbys. In my opinion, the above listed makeup is affordable and works as promised. What is your favorite drugstore cosmetic brand?
