There are several face powders available that are specifically designed for oily skin to help control excess shine and keep your makeup in place throughout the day. Here are some popular option
- Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder: This is a cult-favorite setting powder that helps control oil and minimize the appearance of pores. It provides a matte finish without looking cakey. The powder blurs imperfections and wears for at least 16 hours. Also, it has a soft-focus finish and zero flashback.
- RCMA No-Color Powder: This translucent setting powder is finely milled and works well for oily skin. It helps set makeup without adding any color or texture. No-Color Powder is a loose and invisible setting powder. The weightless texture buffs effortlessly into the skin without leaving behind an ashy cast or altering the color of your foundation
- Coty Airspun Loose Face Powder: An affordable option, this powder is known for its oil-absorbing properties and comes in a translucent shade that works well for a variety of skin tones. One of my faves. The loose powder blended with air and creates a lightweight, silky finish. The milled powder hides lines, wrinkles and blemishes.
- Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Powder: This drugstore option offers a matte finish and helps to control oil throughout the day. It’s available in various shades to match different skin tones. The Fit Me powder provides coverages without creasing the skin. I have this product and almost always bring it with me on a night out.
- Clinique Stay-Matte Sheer Pressed Powder: Specifically designed for oily skin, this powder provides a shine-free finish without clogging pores or looking heavy. The Clinique sheer powder gives excellent coverage. The pressed powder’s formula absorbs shine, controls oil and resists sweat.
- Fenty Beauty Invisimatte Blotting Powder: Created by Rihanna’s brand, this powder is excellent for touch-ups throughout the day. It helps to control excess oil without disturbing your makeup. The translucent blotting powder is ideal for ALL skintones. There’s zero whitish effect on the skin skin when you apply, it takes off oiliness, and blurs out your pores.
- Urban Decay De-Slick Mattifying Powder: This powder is part of Urban Decay’s oil-control lineup and is formulated to reduce shine and keep your makeup looking fresh. Also, it blends easily and does a good job working to soak up the oil on your face. The De-Slick powder sinks into the skin creating a silky soft canvas for your makeup.
- Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Microfinishing Loose Powder: This translucent powder is finely milled and designed to give a matte finish while blurring imperfections and setting makeup. This powder works great under the eye. And with oily skin, it has tremendous stay power when use with a setting spray.
- Too Faced Peach Perfect Mattifying Setting Powder: Infused with peach and fig extracts, this powder helps control oil and provides a soft-focus finish. It’s also known for its pleasant scent. This is one of my favorite setting powders. It provides an airbrushed finish. I must say that this powder has been discontinued on the Too Faced website. BUT, if you do a little research, you can find it on the web.
- NARS Light Reflecting Loose Setting Powder: While it has “light reflecting” in the name, this powder is actually great for oily skin. It sets makeup without making your skin look overly matte or flat. Powder locks your makeup in place with a weightless finish that is undetectable on skin. The luxurious powder applies evenly, blends effortlessly, and enhances the look of foundation. Ideal for fair to medium skin tones; and Sunstone; ideal for medium-deep and deep skin tones with no white cast or flashback on skin.
Remember that selecting the right shade and formula for your skin tone and type is essential. It’s also a good idea to apply powder in thin layers and touch up as needed throughout the day, especially in areas prone to oiliness.
