I personally suffer from dry skin. It is dry during the Spring and Summer. But it get worse during the Fall and Winter, especially Winter. When I first started caring for my skin it was difficult because I did not have anyone to ask questions. I had to do my own research and decificer what was my skin type and which products I should use to help eleviate the dryness. So here is some of what I found when I did my research. Remember, as years go buy your skin will change with your age. But the good news is there will be that much more research done.
- Cleansers:
- CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser – if you want to save some pennies, this is what I first used as a cleanser
- La Roche-Posay Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Cleanser
- Moisturizers:
- CeraVe Moisturizing Cream
- Vanicream Moisturizing Cream
- Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel
- La Roche-Posay Lipikar Balm AP+
- Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion – I currently use this product. It is not very thick and does a good job at moisturizing
- Serums and Treatments:
- Hyaluronic Acid Serums (e.g., The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5) – this is the exact product I use in my regimen. It is not expensive and does a great job at firming and brightening my skin.

- Niacinamide Serums (e.g., Paula’s Choice 10% Niacinamide Booster) – again, this is the exact same prodcut I use in my regimen. It is not expensive and does a great job. It minimizes enlarges pores, soften lines and wrinkles.
- Face Oils:
- Rosehip Seed Oil
- Squalane Oil
- Jojoba Oil
- Exfoliants:
- Gentle chemical exfoliants containing lactic acid or glycolic acid (e.g., Pixi Glow Tonic). One of my favorites skin exfoliants is by Philosophy called The Microdelivery Wash. It will not rub the skin off of your face, but gentle enough to remove dead skin.
- Avoid harsh physical scrubs, as they can exacerbate dryness.
- Sunscreen:
- A moisturizing sunscreen with broad-spectrum protection (SPF 30 or higher). Look for products labeled as “hydrating” or “moisturizing.”
