Almost everyone wonders if the eyeshadow shades they chose are the right ones for them. One of the better ways to choose your eyeshadow is based on the shade of your skintone. It is important to know your skintone before heading out to purchase your eyeshadow. One way to determine your skintone is by looking at your veins in natural lighting. If they appear blue/purple, you have a cool skintone. If your veins appear green, you have a warm skintone. And if you cannot determine the shade of your veins, you are more than likely a neutral skintone.
Now that we have determined your skintone, we will talk about what eyeshadows go with your skintone. If you have determined you have a cool skintone, look for pink, coral, purple, peach, taupe, green and magenta. These cool tones will really make those cool eyes pop!
Those who have warm skintones should look for eyeshadow colors that include bronze, coral, brown, copper, peachy-pinks, gold, olive and yellow. These are the more flattering colors for your eyes.
If you determine you have a neutral tone consider yourself lucky! You are one of the few who can pick and choose the colors of your eyeshadows. You can use anything from the color pink to a color such as bronze–pretty much everything. Try switching things around by wearing a cool, deep purple one day, and a gold color the following day.
Always, always remember, the above are guidelines, and not permanently set in stone. Makeup is supposed to be fun, so don’t let it stress you out.
